Bio:

Charles R. Cuprill, DMD NMD IBDM FIAOMT FIABDM FICOI AFAAID

Charles R. Cuprill completed his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Puerto Rico in 2003, and continued his educational training at Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, completing a 2 year General Practice Residency (GPR), where he was named Chief Resident. Upon completion of his GPR, he was given the honor of being named Fellow in Oral Implantology and Biomaterials at Brookdale allowing him to become an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).

Practicing in Orlando, Florida, his vision was to open the first truly Green, or Eco, Dental Practice in Orlando, and was able to complete this vision when their office was granted the designation of GreenDOC Gold by the EcoDentistry Association.

In the process of getting his GreenDOC certification, Dr. Cuprill noticed that he didn’t have a Amalgam Separator, a filter that removes mercury from the waste water of the dental office, and upon this research he realized how dangerous the use of mercury in dental fillings is to the health of team and patients, and not to mention the environment.

This realization lead to the natural transition of the practice from a Green General Dental Practice to a Biological/Holistic Dental Practice. Dr. Cuprill started following the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) protocols established by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), and then became a full member of the IAOMT. Having completed multiple levels of accreditation within the IAOMT, Dr. Cuprill is now SMART certified and a Fellow in the IAOMT. He has also achieved Fellow status with the IADBM (International Academy of Biological Dentistry & Medicine), and is a member of the HDA (Holistic Dental Association). In 2021, he completed his studies and Board Certification in Integrative Biological Dental Medicine (IBDM) through the American College of Integrative Medicine & Dentistry(ACIMD), earning his Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD).

Within the IAOMT, he has attained certain leadership positions. Currently a Board Member and Executive Vice President of the  IAOMT, he is also the Chair of the Environmental Committee and a member of the International Committee. September 2023, Dr. Cuprill will become President of the IAOMT.
